Lester J. Gill, 52, formerly of Carthage, NY, passed away on March 25, 2024 at the Crossroads Hospice House in Batavia, NY.
Born on September 25, 1971, in Carthage, New York, he was the son of John B. Gill and Norma A. West. Lester graduated from Watertown High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy , achieving the rank of third-class petty officer. Following his honorable discharge, Lester settled in Watertown before eventually relocating to Batavia, where he worked as a meat cutter at Tops Friendly Market in Warsaw, New York.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, John B. and Joyce Gill of Valrico, Florida, a son, Tyler Gill of Tennessee, three grandchildren, and five siblings: Christina and Michael Tundo of Brownville, New York; James and Darlene Gill of Hayesville, North Carolina; David Gill of Watertown, New York; Deborah Aubin of Utah; and Herbert and Rebecca Desrosiers of Tampa, Florida.
He is pre-deceased by his beloved mother, Norma Hague, and two siblings, Donna Frye and Daniel Desrosiers.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River. In accordance with his wishes, Lester will be cremated, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
